Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Neeson in The Next Three Days trailer

My biggest problem with the premise of THE NEXT THREE DAYS is that I don’t see how they can end this happily.  The film centers on a man that tries to break his wife out of prison after she’s convicted of murder.  Director and writer Paul Haggis has crafted an intense trailer and gotten the help of some talented actors in Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde, but what’s supposed to happen after the husband gets his wife out of prison?

The early part of the film makes sense as the husband has to suffer through the horror of his wife being convicted of murder, and breaking her out of prison should be exciting, but then what?  Not many people break out of prison and go on to live happily ever after.  Mainly because so many countries have extradition treaties with the US, there’s nowhere to go.  So unless they’re going to say the family is moving to Argentina forever, I can’t see this ending well for anyone involved.  Watch the trailer here.
