Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges get serious in the first image from R.I.P.D.

Following the trend of forgoing early marketing campaigns, R.I.P.D. hasn’t even released an image from the film (other than some set photos) until today, despite the fact it opens in theaters in just over two months. The comic adaptation is about “dead” policemen that police the dead and stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as two cops on a case. From the looks of their guns below, I’d say it takes more than a normal bullet to kill (re-kill?) their targets. You gotta love any movie that features a gold plated gun. Hopefully, this first image will mean a trailer for the film isn’t far behind. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke, who previously directed RED and I thought did a pretty good job with it. But jumping into the supernatural world can be a different story.
R.I.P.D. stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Mary Louise-Parker, Robert Knepper, Mike O’Malley, James Hong and Kevin Bacon. The Robert Schwentke directed film will blast into theaters on July 19th, 2013.
