Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star in the first Gravity trailer
Well, after the ridiculous teaser for the teaser trailer, we finally have the official trailer for director Alfonso Cuaron’s GRAVITY, featuring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney flying through space. Really, those three names alone are enough to get me excited for this film, but the real question is whether or not Cuaron can make the concept of two astronauts trapped in space interesting for two hours, even if those two astronauts are Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. From the first trailer, one thing is for certain; this will be a beautiful film. Unfortunately, that’s about all I got out of it, so we’ll have to wait until GRAVITY hits theaters on October 3rd to find out if the story is as captivating as it promises to be.
The official synopsis for GRAVITY: Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
