Saoirse Ronan set to star in Disney's Order Of The Seven
At one time, there were three live action Snow White films in the works. There are the two that you know about, SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN with Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, and MIRROR, MIRROR with Lily Collins and Armie Hammer, then there’s the one that didn’t cross the finish line in time; SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES. In a somewhat ironic and cruel twist of fate, the latter was the one that Disney was actually trying to get going. But with the first two Snow White films hitting theaters later this year, Disney has abandoned the idea of making a live action Snow White film and instead, are taking their basic idea (which was basically, Snow White, but with Kung-fu), dropping all mention of fairy tales and are calling it ORDER OF THE SEVEN.
The film is about (stop me if you’ve heard this one before) an exiled girl that meets up with seven warriors and helps them reclaim their place against an evil princess. But the evil princess tricks her into eating a poison orange. Okay, there are probably no poisonous fruits, but you get the idea that the film is strikingly similar to the classic fairytale. Well anyway, Australian commercial director Michael Gracey is directing from a script that was just recently touched up by Michael Arndt (TOY STORY 3). And right now, Saoirse Ronan is set to take on the role of
Snow White Olivia Sinclair. And yes, that’s Saoirse Ronan pictured above; she’s grown up a lot in the last couple of years.
