Scott Speedman joins Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in The Vow

Scott Speedman is set to join Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in the upcoming true story romance film THE VOW in which a newlywed couple suffer a horrible tragedy when the wife is in a car crash and suffers amnesia, forcing the husband to woo her all over again.  Speedman will be playing the former fiancee with whom the woman rekindles a romance while she’s still suffering from amnesia.  Up until this point, I was kind of excited about the romantic drama and liked the idea of a husband trying to win his wife back.  It was kind of like 50 FIRST DATES, but serious.  However, the insertion of another guy who is also trying to compete for her love makes this a little awkward.  My hope is that Speedman’s part is small and it will just be another obstacle the husband has to temporarily fight through.

Michael Sucsy, from HBO’s ‘Grey Gardens’ is directing the romantic drama and is also in the process of rewriting the script.  The film is loosely based on real life couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter.
