Scrubs star Zach Braff joins James Franco and Mila Kunis in Oz, the Great and Powerful

More casting news for the Sam Raimi directed film OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL as today former “Scrubs” star and indie filmmaker Zach Braff joins the cast. He will star alongside James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz and Joey King and will play Frank, an assistant to Oz (played by Franco) who doesn’t get all the credit he deserves (much like most assistants in real life). OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL should start shooting sooner rather than later as a tentative release date has been set for March 8, 2013. It follows Oz (who has a much longer name) as he finds himself in a magical land ruled by three witch sisters, after being swept away in his hot air balloon.

With a great cast like this I’m actually starting to get interested in this film. Raimi is really a talented director and I think Zach Braff is a great addition to the cast and I’m excited to see him in a tentpole film.
