For most people, the only “goons” in hockey movie history are the Hanson brothers from SLAP SHOT. But that was a long time ago and so now’s the time to revisit the idea of a hockey enforcer and who better to lead the way than Seann William Scott? In the film, Scott plays a local bar bouncer that gets picked to be the enforcer for a minor league hockey team. For those that don’t know, “enforcers” in hockey are usually fourth line guys that specialize in rough, physical play. I’m sure in GOON, they’re going to be the guys that always fight.

Along with Scott, the film stars Jay Baruchel, Liev Schreiber, Eugene Levy and Alison Pill. Michael Dowse is directing from a script that was written by Jay Baruchel and frequen Seth Rogen collaborator, Evan Goldberg.
