Simon Pegg and Nick Frost star in The World's End trailer
The first trailer for the Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright trio’s THE WORLD’S END is here and even though I like these guys and their previous films, I can’t help but think they’d be better off keeping things more simple. In THE WORLD’S END, a group of friends reunite to try and do a pub crawl they failed at when they were younger. The trailer was funny in the beginning, but as soon as eyes started glowing and monsters started attacking, I started to lose interest. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are hilarious without any grand special effects.
THE WORLD’S END stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Rosamund Pike, David Bradley and Mark Heap. The Edgar Wright directed film is set to hit theaters on August 23rd.
THE WORLD’S END official synopsis: In the third installment of director Edgar Wright’s trilogy of comedies starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, following the successes “Shaun of the Dead” (2004) and “Hot Fuzz” (2007). In “The World’s End,” 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”
