Steven Soderbergh may take on U.N.C.L.E

There is talk around town that Steven Soderbergh may take over directing the long-time film project entitled THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E which is based on a spy program that was on television during the 1960’s.  When David Dobkin was attached to direct, the word was that the film was going to be an action-comedy type flick.  Since Soderbergh is a little more serious in his directing, well direction, there is no telling if he will stick with the same tone or script (which may end up being rewritten by long time Soderbergh collaborator Scott Z. Burns).  No casting has been announced but filming is set to begin at the end of next year.

Rest assured that with Soderbergh on as director this film will have some pretty heavy hitters in the acting department.  Maybe we can see George Clooney take another run at being a spy, he’s so debonair like a spy should be.
