Steven Soderbergh plans to direct the thriller This Bitter Pill

Posted by: Zack Bruce

This is weird. I thought Steven Soderbergh was going to retire from filmmaking. Now all we seem to hear about is the next project that he plans to direct.

So it should as no surprise that Soderbergh has gotten himself involved with another film. This one is a thriller titled THIS BITTER PILL which is set in the world of psychopharmacology. The director is getting involved with Scott Z. Burns, the writer on the adaptation of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. that was recently abandoned. I guess if you can’t get Clooney then there’s really no point.

Psychopharmacology? Is that even a medical term? It is. Basically it’s the study of the actions of drugs and their effects on mood, sensation, thinking, and behavior. Maybe something along the lines of REQUIEM FOR A DREAM? Soderbergh recently did a thriller with CONTAGION. I guess he wanted to take on another after MAGIC MIKE.
