Steven Spielberg unveils the first trailer for The Adventures of Tintin

There’s really nothing left to say about motion-capture (not to be confused with stop-motion) animation.  Robert Zemeckis brutally murdered his career and reputation because of his fascination with it and there has yet to be a quality film utilizing the method, but that doesn’t stop people from trying.  It’s with a very heavy heart that I bring you a look at Steven Spielberg’s THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN.  Which, for the longest time, had “the legend of the unicorn” in the title, but apparently they decided against it and dropped it.  The film features the talents of Jamie Bell (looking…odd…), Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost .

I will freely admit that this looks much better than anything Zemeckis has touched, but it still has that creepy vibe to it and it feels like nothing more than a display of how beautiful motion-capture can be.  I apologize Senor Spielbergo, but this isn’t going to make people forget about the tragedy that was INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL.
