Studio still angry over leaked Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart photos from Twilight: Breaking Dawn

If you frequently scour the internet for movie news, then you know that you’ll always find plenty of set photos, leaked trailers and early script reviews for just about any movie you can think of. Typically, the studios will send strongly worded letters to the offending webmasters and the matter is traditionally taken care of at that point. But one case that’s been lingering for a while centers around the leaked images from THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART1 in which Summit Entertainment alleges (and is now suing) that college student Daiana Santia from Argentina hacked into their private servers and email accounts to steal images from the anticipated film. Well, Daiana has recently stood up and denied hacking their computers and claims that she found them while browsing the net.
Summit is also accusing her of distributing the images, to which she denies and says “You enter by navigating, entering by different links, I closed everything and that was it. I couldn’t do it again even if I wanted to. I only saw it, I didn’t distribute it like they say.” Of course, Summit isn’t having any of it and claims that Daiana has already admitted to hacking their site and released this statement “First and most important this is NOT about greed or the studio wanting to bully a woman from a small town in Argentina, rather, it is about stolen material that is private and sensitive which was obtained by illegally accessing private/secure servers as well as personal email accounts. Ms Santia’s actions came to light after these materials began appearing on the internet towards the end of March 2011.”
To steal (and modify) a line from THE SOCIAL NETWORK, it kind of feels like Summit should be wearing skeleton costumes and chasing the Karate Kid around a high school gym. Anyway, I’m not sure about the images in question, but click the links below for plenty of Twilight pictures. Breaking Dawn opens November 18th and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Michael Sheen, Taylor Lautner, and Billy Burke.
