Superman learns his purpose in a new TV spot for Man of Steel
In the beginning of the MAN OF STEEL promotions, it was all very existential and focused on the epic nature of Superman and his purpose. That lasted for quite a while and then we got the final trailer and it was all about Superman in action. But with this latest TV spot, Warner Bros. seems to have found a balance, with Superman/Kal-El asking his biological father Jor-El what his purpose is and then Russell Crowe launches into a 20 second monologue. Meanwhile, the action erupts on screen. It’s a nice balance and I have to admit, if I was watching TV and this spot came on, I’d definitely bypass the bathroom break to watch it.
