Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger acquire more cast for The Tomb
Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are gathering together more cast members for their upcoming action flick THE TOMB. A couple of months ago we learned that Jim Caviezel (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST) signed on and now we have another set of actors participating that include: Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson (GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’), Amy Ryan (GONE BABY GONE), Vinnie Jones (SNATCH) and Vincent D’Onofrio (televisions Law & Order: Criminal Intent).
THE TOMB follows security expert Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) who is the top authority in the field and has been tabbed to design an unbreakable and inescapable prison. Of course somehow he gets trapped in his own high security prison and must use all his skills acquired over the years to escape. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be playing an inmate (probably one who has been there for quite some time), Vinnie Jones will play a prison guard, Vincent D’Onofrio will play a deputy director, Jim Caviezel will play the warden and Amy Ryan will portray Sylvester Stallone’s business partner. No word on what role Curtis Jackson will play. THE TOMB is being directed by Mikael Håfström and will start shooting later this year.
Against my better judgment, I’m looking forward to seeing Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger back on screen. Sylvester Stallone just about ruined that for me when he made THE EXPENDABLES, as I thought that was a cheap way to get a bunch of my favorite action stars together for a film. So I’m going to give Sylvester Stallone one more chance to change my opinion of him (I don’t count THE EXPENDABLES 2 as that chance, I’m not acknowledging that) and he can do that with THE TOMB. If this film is a dud then I wipe my hands clean of you Mr. Sylvester Stallone. You will only live on as Rocky in my mind, which isn’t so bad I guess. (Variety)
