Sam Worthington, who has been the recent “It” man of Hollywood, has stepped up his game and will not only act in, but also produce the upcoming action/adventure film QUATERMAIN. The film will be based on the literary figure but will have a sci-fi spin on it. Here’s a little synopsis, in case you are unfamiliar with Allan Quatermain:
“Allan Quatermain was the hero of “King’s Solomon’s Mines,” a Victorian adventure novel by H. Rider Haggard, and its sequel, ‘Allan Quatermain.’ In the first book, Quatermain leads an expedition into an unexplored region of Africa to find the brother of a friend as well as a fabled treasure of the lost mines.”
The film will follow the basic story, but instead of just going on an expedition to King Solomon’s Mines, the film will be set during a time where humans have left Earth and Quatermain is back on his adventure on a more “planetwide scale”. Right now the film has no director and is still in the early development stages. Keep your fingers crossed that this will be closer in range to the production value of AVATAR instead of CLASH OF THE TITANS.
