Lionsgate has secured Carey Elwes to return to the SAW series in SAW VII 3D. What?! Saw 7?! Are you kidding me?! I don’t remember a film ever having so many sequels in such a short amount a time. They bust out one a year. It’s longer than a season of a British Television series. I was a big fan of the first one and don’t think Elwes was as horrible as most people said. I absolutely hated the second. The third was OK. I fell asleep during the fourth and I have missed out on the rest. It takes a lot of effort to keep up with these.
The film will be about the few survivors from Jigsaw’s evil games over the past years. I guess they form a support group and will probably somehow get caught up in crazy contraptions all over again. The cast will include Tobin Bell, Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Sean Patrick Flanery, Gina Holden, Chad Donella, Laurence Anthony, Dean Armstrong and Naomi Snieckus. Kevin Greutert will direct it with an October 22 release date and like everything else, it will be in 3D.
