Jim Sturgess has signed on to yet another romantic film and this time will be teaming up with actress Malin Akerman. The two will star in WILDWOOD INN from director Christopher McDonald. The story follows two dissatisfied married people who each travel to the same cabin at separate times during the year. Through the cabin’s welcome journal they start a relationship outside of both of their marriages. Sounds a little like the Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves film THE LAKE HOUSE minus the time difference. No word on when filming will start.
Even though Sturgess seems to be filling his resume with romantic films (ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, ONE DAY and UPSIDE DOWN) I don’t really see him as that kind of guy. I loved ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, but that may be because The Beatles are amazing not because I think Jim Sturgess was great. I’m interested to see if he can sway me and become a new romantic film lead.
UPDATE: Jim Sturgess’ reps have contacted us and it turns out that Jim Sturgess is in no way attached to WILDWOOD INN, no word on whether or not Malin Akerman really is attached as the source has stated.
