A new film from Peruvian director Claudia Llosa (THE MILK OF SORROW) is in the works and considering this is her first English-language film, she has managed to gather together quite an impressive cast. CRY/FLY is set to star Jennifer Connelly, Cillian Murphy and Melanie Laurent. CRY/FLY follows the mother (Jennifer Connelly) of a girl who is terminally ill and a son. Due to a dramatic event, the three get separated and 20-years later a journalist (Melanie Laurent) persuades the adult son (Cillian Murphy) to go in search of his mother. The film sounds pretty depressing, but intriguing as well and it’ll be interesting to see if Claudia Llosa can have a successful crossover into the English-language market. CRY/FLY is set to start shooting in February but right now there is no release date attached.
