Universal Studios, Ryan Reynolds and director Robert Schwentke are working together to bring the Dark Horse comic series R.I.P.D. to the big screen. R.I.P.D. is a police department for the dead, the story will follow two cops, one who is recently deceased and the other who has been dead for hundreds of years. The screenplay will be penned by Phil Hay and Matt Mandredi. No shooting or release date has yet been set.
I think this sounds like a pretty interesting concept and I’m excited to see what comes of it. Ryan Reynolds is the new hot guy on scene and it’s great that he’s starting to steer clear of playing it safe in the romantic comedy genre.
