This may be sacrilege for someone that was actually a teenager in the 90’s, but I never liked Pearl Jam. In fact, whenever I’m asked who the most overrated band is of all time, I inevitably say Pearl Jam. I don’t know what it is about Eddie Vedder’s voice, but it grates on me like someone scratching their nails down a chalkboard. But I digress. There are many, many people out there that swear by the band’s music and Cameron Crowe happens to be one of them (although I curiously can’t think of a time he used one of their songs in a movie of his…). In fact, he likes them so much that he decided to make a documentary film about them called PEARL JAM TWENTY.
As with most documentaries, if the subject doesn’t interest you, you’re not going to dig the film. Although I might be tempted to watch it since I am a huge Cameron Crowe fan. Below is the first image from the film, featuring a young Cameron Crowe. The documentary will premiere on PBS on October 21st.
