Mark Pellington is in negotiations to direct Guillermo Del Toro’s U.S. version of THE ORPHANAGE, a remake of the Spanish film EL ORFANATO. The film is about a woman who takes over the orphanage she grew up in and is disturbed when her son starts playing with the same frightening imaginary friend she had growing up. Right now it doesn’t look like a cast has been set.
I’m not really into horror films but I do like Del Toro’s style. I’m especially looking forward to another one of his projects that you may have heard of: THE HOBBIT, for which he is both writer and director.
