I hope Tony Scott sends Denzel Washington a big, expensive Christmas gift every year. Because without Denzel’s brilliant acting, Scott’s recent movies would be complete crap. Denzel makes you forget what you’re watching is ridiculous and insanely edited. It looks like UNSTOPPABLE falls right into that category, but I have to admit that I think it looks like fun. I actually like Tony Scott, but man, I really wish he’d ease up on that frantic editing. This looks like a film that’s intense enough on its own, so maybe he won’t overdue it.
The film is about two conductors/engineers that try to stop a runaway train carrying hazardous substances, on pace to crash into a small town. The film stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, Elizabeth Mathis and Ethan Suplee. It hits theaters everywhere on November 12th. Watch the trailer here.
