I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like there has been a severe shortage of straight-to-DVD action films as of late. Thank goodness somebody got the memo and got Jason Statham on it right away before we had a bunch of riots in the streets, that would be horrible. The latest B action flick to soon hit stands is BLITZ, which follows a tough cop (aren’t they all?) who is in search of a serial killer that has been targeting police officers. The film is directed by Elliott Lester and also stars Luke Evans, Paddy Considine (who was awesome in IN AMERICA), Aidan Gillen and David Morrissey. The film comes to DVD and maybe Blu-ray on August 23, 2011. Check out the trailer below.
I actually like Jason Statham a little, so I’m going to let this fly because I’m just going to assume that he’s trying to keep his rocking body ready for THE EXPENDABLES 2. However, this is his one free pass. I don’t give these out to everybody.
