In the MAN OF STEEL sequel, we know we’re going to have: Batman, Superman, Lex Luthor, Nightwing, supposedly Doomsday and now officially, Wonder Woman, along with other Justice League members. Why not just call this JUSTICE LEAGUE? After years of reported attempts to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen and months of speculation about whether or not she would appear in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN and then weeks of guessing who would play her, we now have official word from Warner Bros. that Gal Gadot has landed the role of the Amazon princess. Along with Gadot, we know that BATMAN VS SUPERMAN is set to star Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder is directing the film that hits theaters on July 17th, 2015.
If you don’t recognize Gal Gadot immediately, it’s okay. She was in the last few FAST AND FURIOUS films and also had a role in KNIGHT & DAY. She has an exotic look to her, but I’m not sure she’s the first choice that comes to mind to play Wonder Woman. But really, Wonder Woman has got to be one of the hardest superheroes to bring to the big screen. Let’s face it; an invisible jet and power bracelets don’t scream “cool” amongst today’s heroes. So is BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN getting crowded, or is it a good idea to bring in as many characters as possible to catch up to Marvel? (Variety)
