It’s official, Kate Beckinsale will return for UNDERWORLD 4. The actress will don her skintight leather once again as the vampire Selene. I personally never saw any of the sequels after the first one. I enjoyed the Romeo and Juliet spin with vampires and werewolves. Apparently, Beckinsale wasn’t even in the third installment called UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS but her true-life daughter was, playing a younger version of herself.
John Hiavin wrote the script with revisions by J. Michael Stracynski. Beckinsale’s husband and original director will produce the film that currently is without a director. I’ve always felt Beckinsale is an underused talent, so I hope she gets another role in a film that I might actually watch. Production on UNDERWORLD 4 will begin March 2011.
