Ice Cube is joining the cast of Oren Moyerman’s RAMPART along with Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster. Moyerman’s first film was THE MESSENGER, which also starred Harrelson and Foster, so it seems that he was fond of the tandem. RAMPART is an LA-based crime story that focuses on crooked cops, similar to what went down in the 90’s. Ice Cube will play a detective sent to investigate a dirty cop, played by Harrelson. The script was written by James Ellroy.
Aside from his horrible comedies, I’ve always thought Ice Cube was a decent actor. This film has my interest peaked and I’m excited to see what Moyerman will do with it. It has a little bit of a TRAINING DAY vibe to it, but I think there could be a lot more to the story than just a good cop versus bad cop scenario.
