Tyler Perry to portray Alex Cross in new James Patterson adaptation

Posted by: Kristy Sturdivant

In a role made famous by Morgan Freeman in KISS THE GIRLS and ALONG CAME A SPIDER, Tyler Perry will take on the character of Dr. Alex Cross in the upcoming James Patterson reboot I, ALEX CROSS. The studios are hoping that Tyler Perry will be bringing some of his fans along who have come to love him and follow his many films from the MADEA films to the WHY DID I GET MARRIED movies. I, ALEX CROSS will be directed by Rob Cohen and the intention is to make this film turn into a trilogy with Perry leading the cast. No word on when production will begin.

I was a big fan of KISS THE GIRLS when it came out and thought Morgan Freeman was awesome as Dr. Alex Cross. Since that is my only experience with any of James Patterson’s books, I’d like to hear what you guys think about having Tyler Perry take on the role. Is his a good choice? Will he be able to carry three films with the character? Do you think he will be better than Morgan Freeman? So many questions and we’d love to get your answers.
