The World Wrestling Entertainment organization has just announced the cast for it’s next film BENDING THE RULES. The film will star Jamie Kennedy, Jennifer Esposito, Alicia Witt and Adam “Edge” Copeland. The story revolves around a young district attorney (Kennedy) that tries to expose a corrupt police detective (Copeland) in New Orleans. No filming date has been set as of yet.
I’d like to say I’m shocked that WWE is trying to take over the film market, but I’m just not. They’ve put out mediocre movies the past few years and seem to be on track to put out even more in order to, “build a library of pics it can generate coin from with a limited run in theaters, on DVD, and through a planned TV channel it’s developing”. I don’t know what’s more distressing, the fact that we have to put up with wrestlers as actors or that WWE is trying to rejuvenate Jamie Kennedy’s career.
