Since her character on AMC’s Mad Men seems to be on the course of being slowly written out, actress January Jones has taken the opportunity to try and expand her film career. She can be seen next in the period drama SWEETWATER from directors Noah and Logan Miller. Here’s the official synopsis of SWEETWATER: In the late 1800s, a fanatical religious leader, a renegade Sheriff, and a former prostitute collide in a blood triangle on the rugged plains of the New Mexico Territory. Considering the dress in the photo, I’m going to assume that January Jones will be the former prostitute in the film, but I could be wrong. It’ll be interesting to see January Jones in a film like this since she doesn’t tend towards the dramatic roles, and I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for it next year.
Directed by Logan Miller and Noah Miller, SWEETWATER stars: January Jones, Jason Issacs, Ed Harris, Eduardo Noriega, Chad Brummett and Jenny Gabrielle. It will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival which runs January 17-27th, 2013. (Playlist)
