Although I like that they made a documentary film about Hugh Hefner called HUGH HEFNER: PLAYBOY, ACTIVIST AND REBEL, I think we’re at a point where his life story should be made into a film. The guy was a pioneer for the sexual revolution, along with breaking down racial barriers and taking a stand when no one else would. It seems that people today just think of him as a dirty old man that sleeps with busty centerfolds, but the guy was a lot more back in the day. This documentary does a good job of showcasing some of the things he did that most people don’t remember. The film is directed by Brigitte Berman.
The film features appearances by Bill Maher, George Lucas, Jenny McCarthy, Gene Simmons, Shannon Tweed and just about any Playboy model you can think of. There’s no wide release date yet for the film. Watch the trailer here.
