Director Timur Bekmambetov won an auction for a script entitled MAGGIE in which he will produce, and is of course, about zombies (the trend may never end). The story follows a teenage girl in the Midwest named Maggie who gets attacked and bitten by a zombie. However, unlike normal zombie mythology which has the victim become one of the undead in a matter of minutes or hours, the film will track her slow transformation over six months while she still resides with her family. The script was written by John Scott and will be directed by Henry Hobson, production will probably begin within the year.
Although I’m starting to get sick of the vampire and zombie films, at least this one has a nice twist and will make us think of the main character as a person instead of just another undead creature.
