Man, I thought they had dropped the ball on Juan Solanas’ UPSIDE DOWN starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess. It’s been quite some time since any news on the film has come about. Suddenly, we have new images from the film.
The story is about a childhood crush that develops into a relationship of unrequited love for a couple literally living in separate universes. Sturgess plays Adam, whose love for his childhood companion Eve (Dunst) continues to flourish when he catches a glimpse of her on television all grown up. The only problem is that Eve lives in an inverted affluent place with its own gravity that’s separated from Adam.
The plot sounds intriguing enough so I’m guessing the reason there’s no release date has to do with the fact that there’s no distributor currently. One would figure with the “semi-comeback” of Kirsten Dunst that someone might pick this up. Maybe Fox Searchlight? Summit? Well, until they get it sorted out there’s some stills of Dunst and Sturgess from the film to gather some interest.
