Natalie Portman seems determined to make America forget she was ever in the Star Wars prequels. Her last three films alone have been drastic diversions from playing a psycho ballerina in BLACK SWAN, a goofy warrior in YOUR HIGHNESS to now playing an adulterer in THE OTHER WOMAN. We get it, Natalie; you’re all grown up. I’m a little disappointed by the trailer for THE OTHER WOMAN. I guess I thought the film was going to be an original look at an adulterous affair from the viewpoint of “the other woman”, but instead it looks like it takes an odd turn when she (Portman) losers her child and has to learn to get along with her new husband’s kid. The trailer makes it look like a more serious version of STEPMOM with Julia Roberts and Susan Surandon.
THE OTHER WOMAN stars Portman, Lisa Kudrow, Lauren Ambrose and Scott Cohen. Don Roos (HAPPY ENDINGS) is directing. The US release date hasn’t been set. Watch the trailer below.
