John Cusack and Cameron Crowe to re-team for a Say Anything sequel?

Cameron Crowe is one of those directors who is great when he’s on, but not so great when he’s off. He’s had moments of glory with JERRY MAGUIRE and ALMOST FAMOUS, and moments of mediocrity with ELIZABETHTOWN and  VANILLA SKY. However, most fans love him the most for his famous 80’s film SAY ANYTHING which has one of the most iconic scenes (Llyod Dobler with a boom box over the head) that launched a famous career for John Cusack. In a recent interview, Mr. Crowe discussed the idea of a SAY ANYTHING sequel and said, ““I do kind of think there might be another chapter to that. I’ve thought about it from time to time, and talked to John Cusack about it.  Lloyd Dobler might be back. It’s the only thing I’ve written that I would consider doing that with.” This is all still in the speculation phase and is really still just a thought on paper, but I’d really like to know what fans of SAY ANYTHING think of this? Would you like to revisit Lloyd Dobler after all these years? He is an iconic character and the story is beloved by many- should Mr. Crowe go ahead and do a sequel, or should he let sleeping dogs lie?

You can catch John Cusack in his next film THE RAVEN which hits theaters on March 9, 2012.
