Brian De Palma set to direct a remake of Love Crime

Where has Brian De Palma been hiding? He hasn’t made a movie since 2007 (REDACTED) but he could easily be put into one of the top 50 directors of the last century. With hits like: SCARFACE, CARRIE, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, THE UNTOUCHABLES and CARLITO’S WAY he was at the top of his game, and then he just fell off into oblivion it appears. Well, he’s back after three years and he’s on a mission to remake LOVE CRIME to be called PASSION. It follows an executive and her apprentice who get involved in some sexual office politics that eventually lead to murder. De Palma is looking for some financing at this time and if all goes well, casting should be announced at the Cannes Film Festival in May with a tentative schedule to start shooting at the end of the summer.

I’m happy De Palma is back in the game and I hope PASSION has some success so we can see more from him in the next couple of years.
