Universal Studios has cast Mark Wahlberg in another film (they are currently working with him on TED and CONTRABAND) called BAIT AND SWITCH. There are no specific details about the plot but it’s being described as an action-comedy film from first-time writer Matthew J. O’Neill. It doesn’t appear that a director has been hired yet, but BAIT AND SWITCH will be produced by Mark Wahlberg, Scott Stuber, John Jacobs, Stephen Levinson and Zac Unterman. Since Wahlberg is a busy guy at the moment, there’s no word on when production will start.
As much as I’m a fan of Mark Wahlberg (which you all know I am), I’m going to admit that I don’t particularly enjoy his comedies. Maybe that’s unfair to say since really he only starred in one, but I didn’t like it and I didn’t like his performance (which I feel bad saying). So yeah, don’t have high hopes for TED but BAIT AND SWITCH may be alright since it will also have some action.
