Earlier we reported that J.J. Abrams planned on working with and paying tribute to Steven Spielberg on his next film. Well today we learn that Mr. Spielberg’s next project will be directing WAR HORSE, a World War I novel written by Michael Morpurgo. Dreamworks is set to release the film August 10, 2011.
The story is about a horse and his owner and how they get separated but their lives continually cross paths during the First World War. The beautiful bay-red foal brings warmth and hope to the surrounding men with his amazing courage during the horrific war. I am curious how The Bearded One plans on shooting this with an animal as his main subject. I’m not too worried though as anything Spielberg touches usually is incredible. As always, he has nearly a dozen other projects he is working on as well.
