Chris Hemsworth and Michael Mann are teaming up for a cyber thriller

Chris Hemsworth

I think Chris Hemsworth might be the luckiest guy in Hollywood.  Aside from finding job security playing Thor in his own movies as well as The Avengers for the next decade or so, the Australian actor has A-list directors lining up to work with him.  He has RUSH coming out later this year with Ron Howard as well as IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, CANDY STORE with Stephen Gaghan (okay, he’s no what I’d consider “A-list”), ROBOPOCOLYPSE with Steven Spielberg and of course, sequels to SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, THOR and THE AVENGERS.  Well, you can add Michael Mann to the list of directors itching to work with Chris Hemsworth as the two are going to team up for an untitled cyber thriller that Mann wrote with Morgan Davis Foehl.

Unfortunately, not much else is known about the film, but the fact it’s labeled a “cyber thriller” has me a little concerned since “cyber” means “technology” and since technology is changing every couple of weeks, the film has the real potential to date itself pretty quickly.  However, Michael Mann is one of my favorite directors and with Chris Hemsworth in the lead, I’m cautiously optimistic for this one.
