The upcoming ensemble comedy FRIENDS WITH KIDS has a lot going for it. For starters, it was written and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt, who wrote and directed the little seen, but very good KISSING JESSICA STEIN. It also features a cast that will bring back BRIDESMAIDS flashbacks with Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudloph and Chris O’Dowd. So with that kind of filmmaking talent and that kind of star power, the film is bound to be decent. The first trailer has arrived today and I’d say it at least looks interesting. There weren’t any laugh out loud moments, but the premise of two “friends” getting together and raising a kid is ripe for laughter, especially if their judgmental friends step up to the comedy plate.
Along with the aforementioned stars, the film also features a heavy dose of Adam Scott, Megan Fox and Edward Burns. It’s tough to tell who the main stars are, but it seems like the film is going to revolve around Adam Scott and Jennifer Westfeldt’s characters and everyone else will support them. FRIENDS WITH KIDS hits theaters everywhere on March 9th.
