Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy and Nicolas Hoult in a new image from X-Men: Days of Future Past

Production has wrapped on X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and now it’s up to the editors and the CGI wizzes to make the film look good.  And no sooner does Bryan Singer announce that the film is done filming than we get an official image from the upcoming sequel-prequel hybrid.  The image is similar to the set photo Singer posted a while ago, but it does give us an official look at Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy and Nicolas Hoult in their 70’s garb.  Although Logan pretty much always looks like that.  It’s not much, but it’s still nice to see Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will combine both casts from the X-MEN series that will include Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Nicolas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Jason Flemyng and Peter Dinklage. Directed by Bryan Singer the film is set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014.

The official synopsis of the comics (via Wikipedia) is: The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future.
