While audiences still try to decide if Maggie Gyllenhaal is attractive or not, the actress is busy lining up projects. First up for Maggie is the supernatural thriller VOICE FROM THE STONE in which she plays a nurse helping a young boy in an old house in the Italian countryside that’s afflicted by “forces” in the walls of the house. Maggie’s character starts a relationship with the boy’s father and finds herself haunted by the same thing, forcing her and the boy to fight for their lives. The film will be directed by Eric Howell.
Next on her list is the previously announced drama STILL I RISE in which Gyllenhaal will star withViola Davis as two mothers that team up to transform the education system in their inner city school that their children attend. Joining her in the film is Oscar Isaacs as her love interest. The funny thing about this film is the description of Isaacs’ character, who’s described as a “sexy, ukulele-playing teacher”. I can honestly say I’ve never met a sexy, ukulele player. Can’t wait.
