Captain America gets a vintage poster

Posted by: Zack Bruce

Taking a step in the right direction, the poster for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER goes retro. Unfortunately, Marvel Studios only printed 100 copies for the cast and crew of the film. Five of them were given away at the Hero Complex Film Festival over the weekend.

The poster was created by Paolo Rivera who has designed comic covers for Fantastic Four, Spectacular Spider-Man, and X-Men: Unlimited. The design is a mock of the first issue of Captain America. There’s nothing more American than Cap giving a right hook to Hitler.

Paramount should really release this poster to serve as the primary for the film. The massive amount of photoshopping in comic film posters is growing tiresome and unoriginal. Soon enough film audiences will get to see CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER when it hits theaters on July 22.
