Although the premise for the upcoming comedy FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS looks strikingly similar to the film NO STRINGS ATTACHED, I still think there is enough material out there to make this film decent. The film follows two good friends, played by Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, who are sick of relationships and decide to be sex buddies. Inevitably one will fall in love with the other and they will realize that they really were meant for each other. I haven’t read the script or anything, I’m just a really good guesser. The film also stars Patricia Clarkson, Jenna Elfman, Bryan Greenberg, Richard Jenkins and Woody Harrelson and is directed by Will Gluck (who gave us EASY A so I have high hopes). FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS is set for release on July 22, 2011.
Normally I’m very against pop stars moving into the acting arena, but I have to admit that Justin Timberlake has done pretty well. In fact just the other day I had a tiny revelation that he used to be in a boy band and I was so surprised that I had forgotten that.
