Tom Hanks set to produce Parkland which revolves around the JFK assassination

Tom Hanks

Anytime Tom Hanks is attached in any form to a project you know it’s going to be pretty good. Tom Hanks tends to do projects based on past historical events (BAND OF BROTHERS, THE PACIFIC) and it looks like his next project PARKLAND is no different. Directed by Peter Landesman, PARKLAND will follow the events that lead up to JFK’s assassination as well as the documentation of the events by Abraham Zapruder. PARKLAND refers to the Parkland Memorial Hospital where JFK was proclaimed dead, that location will probably have a significant part in the film. PARKLAND will be an ensemble type of film, so look for some major casting news in the next couple of months.

Tom Hanks can be seen next in The Wachowski’s upcoming film CLOUD ATLAS along with Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant and Hugo Weaving. CLOUD ATLAS opens in theaters on October 26th, 2012. (Variety)
