Your Highness director David Gordon Green will write and direct Q

Somehow I forgot that David Gordon Green used to do more serious films like ALL THE REAL GIRLS. Then for some reason he started to become more like Adam McKay or Judd Apatow in his sense of directing. Not sure how it got to that point but it did.

Now it seems that the helmer will be getting back to his roots with a film titled Q. Green is set to write and direct the adaptation of Evan Mandery’s novel. The story centers on a man who is visited by a future version of himself who warns him on his wedding day not to get married to his wife. He listens to himself but spends the rest of his life regretting the decision and tries to fill the void that remains, as future selves continue to advise him. It’s a weird coupling of romance, drama, and sci-fi. I for one welcome it.

The next project from Green that is soon to release is THE SITTER. Another far cry from where the director started. I wonder if Green will look to anyone he’s worked with recently to cast in Q. It should be interesting to see where it goes.
