Australian actress Robin McLeavy is the latest and probabaly last major character to be cast in the upcoming Seth Grahame-Greene adaptation of ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. McLeavy will play the mother of Abraham Lincoln, whose death initiates Lincoln’s hatred of vampires and sets him on the path of vampire hunter. The film will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov and stars Benjamin Walker as Abraham Lincoln, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd, Anthony Mackie as Abe’s best friend and Dominic Cooper as Henry Sturgess who is the vampire mentor to Abe. It’s set to hit theaters on June 22, 2012 and will be presented in 3D. Shooting will begin next month.

You may remember prior reports of former Nine Inch Nails member and recent Academy Award winner Trent Reznor as being involved (which he no longer is) and would play the part of the vampire that actually kills Abraham Lincoln’s mom. It will be interesting to see if the studios will go after another bigger name actor to take on this small part or if it will go to an unknown actor.
