Speaking of someone who consistently gets good roles, William Hurt falls under that category. The last thing I recall seeing him in was ROBIN HOOD, which really wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be.
But the next role he’s taking is in an adaptation of another Stephenie Meyer book? Really? Why? The film has also roped in Saoirse Ronan as the lead. What is this book that is so great? It’s called THE HOST. I’ll spare you the rather long description and say it’s a sci-fi world where an unseen enemy takes over the bodies of humans. There’s a love triangle in this one was well. Go figure. I’ve heard that this book is better than anything from the TWILIGHT franchise. Let’s hope so.
If Hurt is cast then he will play Jeb, the eccentric uncle to Melanie Stryder (Ronan), whose brain is hijacked by the soul of an alien being known as Wanderer. Jeb is one of the grizzled leaders of the human survivalists fighting the alien invasion. Max Irons and Jake Abel also star.
