IRON MAN 2 co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell are set to reteam for the drama LUNATIC AT LARGE. The original story was written by Jim Thompson and Stanley Kubrick. As you might have guessed, the story is strange, to say the least. The film is about an ex-carnival worker that picks up a beautiful barfly in a tavern and the two of them experience a series of strange adventures. Stephen Clarke wrote the screenplay and Chris Palmer will be directing.
I had mixed feelings about A.I., but the moral of that film was that no one does “Kubrick” like Stanley Kubrick. I’m not saying that LUNATIC AT LARGE won’t work, but giving the film to a first time director might put pressure on them to do their best Kubrick impersonation, which is never a good thing.
