Peter Jackson reveals the first look at Bombur, Bofur and Bifur from The Hobbit

How many characters are in THE HOBBIT?  I’m just asking because I haven’t read the books in almost 15 years, but I’m trying to guess how many more of these “first looks” we’re going to get.  The credits for this movie are going to be 20 minutes long if we keep this  up and every other day we get a new look at a group of dwarves.  Today, the honor goes to Bombur, Bofur and Bifur, played by Stephen Hunter, James Nesbitt and William Kircher respectively.  They join the first looks we’ve already seen of Kili, Fili, Oin, Gloin, Dori, Nori and Ori.  So by my calculations, that’s 10 dwarves so far and I believe there were 13 dwarves that accompanied Bilbo on his journey.  So we should be getting one more image of the dwarves before we move onto other characters.

The official description of Bombur, Bofur and Bifur; while most of the Company of Thorin Oakenshield is related to the royal and noble line of Durin, Bofur, his brother Bombur and their cousin Bifur most definitely are not.  Born and bred in the West, descendants of coal miners and iron workers, they have joined the Quest for the Lonely Mountain partly to seek their fortune and partly because they were told the beer was free.
