Sylvester Stallone is a man that aims to please. I mean, did you see the poster for THE EXPENDABLES 2? That thing was miraculous. I know he had to see the final print on that before giving it the okay.
Now Stallone will go from mega manly to musical. Yes I did say the word “musical”. The actor will produce a musical based on 1976s ROCKY with Wladimir Kitschko and his brother Vitali. The script will be written by playwright Thomas Meehan, who wrote Annie and The Producers. Rocky the musical will do its first show in Hamburg, Germany at the end of 2012 and will be entirely in German. Do the Germans feel the same way about Stallone as they do David Hasselhoff?
One of the big numbers will feature the classic song “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. Any time you think of ROCKY doesn’t that song automatically get stuck in your head? I only say that because it’s stuck in mine now.
